All About Claire

Claire van Zyl
Claire has the motivation to make a difference in your world, whether it be your personal or business life. She strives to achieve peak performance on her clients behalf. Thanks to the many factors that have shaped Claire’s personal life and career so far, she always seeks to see the positive side in all situations and in all individuals. She can also call on her own experience, both personal and professional, to benefit her clients.Claire grew up in South Africa, and from her early teens she was identified as a Nurturer. Always caring about other people and how she could help.

She grew up in a loving family who were very involved in the Charity Organisation Lions International. Their mission “…making our communities and the world better places to live …make a difference everyday and everywhere”.

This is where she learned from experience that the smallest things can make a very big difference; and how emotionally rewarding it was to be of service to others. Her Father was a member of the Camps Bay Lions Club and along with her Mother and younger sister; they were involved in projects for children and adults who were:
  • mentally or physically disabled
  • children with HIV/Aids
  • terminally ill
  • the aged
  • orphaned, abandoned or abused
  • homeless / disadvantaged
  • blind / deaf / mute
  • and many others

It was here that she learnt regardless of a person’s Physical, Mental, Emotional, Developmental, Economic or Social Circumstances, we all have dreams, special talents, deserve love and respect.

Claire was educated in South Africa, obtaining a Diploma in Business Administration, Diploma in Project Management. She believes in Life Long learning and underwent further training in Customer Service, Communication, Assertiveness, Human Resource Management, Team Building and Performance Coaching all of which was put to good use in a number of roles, ending as a project and training manager within the call centre environment. She gained invaluable experience working for large international organisations through to working for smaller or start up companies. Throughout her career she has assisted with the implementation of change strategies, team building and motivation.

Claire has been both a team manager and a key team player. Within all of her roles, she has always adopted a positive mental attitude and strived for peak performance. It is this ability that she can now impart to others.

In the UK Claire has worked with Children and Adults with Learning Disabilities, Autism and Aspergers Syndrome. Each of these beautiful individuals demonstrated special skills, talents and determination. Once again they as many before them showed her that the human mind and spirit is an amazing thing. Each of us should be supported and encouraged to follow our heart’s desire with passion and determination regardless of our ‘perceived’ abilities/opportunities/ possibilities due the our Physical, Mental, Emotional, Developmental, Economic or Social ‘circumstances’

Claire also had the privilege of working as a Withdrawals Specialist in a Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Centre, working 12 hour shifts One-on-One with people under treatment until the withdrawal phase of the alcohol/drugs/pharmaceutical drugs had been completed. For some it was only a couple of days, while for others weeks due to withdrawal from pharmaceutical drugs. The students shared their life stories. It was here she was reminded again of the importance of Love, Confidence, Communication and Life Skills in order to face fear and handle the challenges we all face in life.

Claire is also Vice President Membership of the Eastbourne Speakers, District 71, Division H, Area 32 a member of International Toastmasters

It is her passion to make a difference using her Life Coaching skills. Contact Claire today to find out how she can be of assistance to you.
